The Childhood Minister is responsible to the pastor for leadership, development, and evaluation of a comprehensive ministry to children (infants through sixth grade) and their families. This role partners fully with the pastoral staff in outreach and pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities:

Establish and lead the vision and goals for preschool and grade-school faith formation.

Plan, coordinate, and oversee programs that support the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development of children and their families.

Recruit, train, and support ministry leaders and volunteers.

Develop meaningful worship experiences for children and assist families with integration into congregational worship, including parent/child dedication services.

Plan and oversee special programs and events, including summer activities (VBS, camps, retreats) and seasonal gatherings.

Provide parenting resources, seminars, and support for families.

Ensure child safety policies are implemented and followed.

Evaluate and select curriculum and ministry resources.

Oversee childcare during worship and church-wide events.

Develop and manage the childhood ministry budget.

Stay informed on current childhood ministry practices and perform additional duties that support the church’s mission.
