Child Protection Policy (Summary)
All volunteers and paid workers serving children (18 and under) must receive written definitions of child abuse, the church’s reporting policy, and annual training to help identify and prevent abuse.
The church follows a “two-adult rule,” requiring at least two adults present in all children and youth activities. Leadership will provide ongoing supervision, including unannounced visits to classes and programs.
All children and youth workers must:
-
Complete an application and personal interview
-
Be members or active attendees for at least six months (volunteers)
-
Provide and pass reference checks
-
Undergo a criminal background check
Personnel records must be kept confidential and secure.
The church will comply fully with state child abuse reporting laws, and leadership must be notified of any suspected abuse.
