Church Sexual Harassment Policy (Summary)

Purpose:
Model Baptist Church is committed to providing a workplace free from illegal discrimination, harassment, coercion, or disruptive conduct. Sexual harassment undermines the integrity of the employment relationship and will not be tolerated.

Definition:
Sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or verbal/physical conduct of a sexual nature when:

  • Submission is made a condition of employment,

  • Employment decisions are based on submission or rejection, or

  • The conduct creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment or interferes with job performance.

Policy:
Employees shall not be subjected to unwelcome sexual conduct. Inappropriate behavior that harms morale or interferes with work may result in discipline, up to and including termination.

Complaints Procedure:
Complaints should be reported to the Personnel Committee or supervisory personnel. A prompt and confidential investigation will be conducted, and appropriate action taken. The church will cooperate with law enforcement when necessary.

Non-Retaliation:
Retaliation against anyone who reports or participates in an investigation in good faith is strictly prohibited.

Scope:
This policy applies to employees, vendors, and non-employees conducting business with the church.
