Church Sound Technician

Position Summary:
Provides high-quality sound reinforcement to support worship services, helping create an atmosphere that aligns with the pastor’s and worship leader’s vision while delivering distraction-free, excellent audio.

Qualifications:

  • Heart for worship and active involvement in the church (member or regular attendee)

  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills

  • Experience in live audio mixing or willingness to be trained

  • Ability to troubleshoot and respond calmly under pressure

  • Committed to ongoing training, planning meetings, and small group participation

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Service:

  • Set up stage and audio equipment

  • Conduct line checks and sound checks (gain, monitors, EQ, mix)

  • Coordinate with pastor and worship leader on service flow

During Service:

  • Mix and adjust audio levels as needed

  • Follow service cues and worship leader direction

  • Record the service

  • Maintain a distraction-free audio environment

Post-Service:

  • Return media and clear stage

  • Identify and report faulty equipment

  • Gather feedback from musicians regarding sound quality
