Sunday School Teacher (Volunteer / PT / FT)
Reports To: Superintendent / Pastor / Children’s Ministry Director
Ministry Area: Christian Education
Purpose:
Teach and disciple (age group) students in God’s Word, fostering spiritual growth, biblical understanding, and Christ-like character through engaging, age-appropriate instruction.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and teach weekly lessons using approved curriculum

Create a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered classroom

Encourage Scripture memory, prayer, and worship

Communicate with parents/guardians as needed

Attend trainings and planning meetings

Collaborate with ministry leaders

Follow child safety policies and maintain classroom order

Participate in relevant church events
Qualifications:

Personal relationship with Christ and agreement with church doctrine

Passion for Christian teaching and discipleship

Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Dependable and spiritually mature
-
Background check/child safety training (if working with minors)
Spiritual Expectations:
Active church involvement, commitment to prayer, and modeling Christ-like character.
Time Commitment:
2–3 hours weekly preparation; 1–2 hours Sunday teaching; occasional meetings/training.
