Sunday School Teacher 

Reports To: Superintendent / Pastor / Children’s Ministry Director
Ministry Area: Christian Education
Status: Volunteer / Part-Time / Full-Time

Purpose: Teach and disciple children, youth, or adults in the Word of God, fostering faith, biblical knowledge, and Christ-like character.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and teach weekly Bible lessons using approved curriculum.

  • Create a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered classroom.

  • Encourage prayer, Scripture memorization, and worship.

  • Communicate with parents/guardians and collaborate with other teachers.

  • Maintain classroom order and follow child safety protocols.

  • Participate in teacher training, planning meetings, and church-wide student events.

Qualifications:

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to biblical principles.

  • Agreement with church doctrine.

  • Passion for teaching and discipling others.

  • Dependable, organized, and spiritually mature.

  • Background check and child safety training for minors.

Spiritual Expectations:

  • Active in worship and church life.

  • Committed to prayer and personal growth.

  • Model Christ-like behavior in and out of class.

Time Commitment:

  • 2–3 hours weekly lesson prep, 1–2 hours teaching, plus occasional meetings or training.
